Ways Of Making Futuristic Money Whilst Stuck At Home During The COVID-19 Pandemic

Basically, whilst being stuck at home due to COVID-19 and completely bored out of my mind with only Netflix for consistent entertainment, (I mean come on there are only so many movies you can watch before your eyes start to hurt from the strain), I stumbled across cryptocurrency.

This is the “magic internet money” that most people associate with Bitcoin, but there is a cryptoverse (aka cryptocurrency universe) out there to be explored apart from Bitcoin, honestly! I was interested in Bitcoin for a few days until I realised, I have missed the boat on that one, as I was at “The Future of Money Conference” in San Francisco in 2013, and Bitcoin was all everyone mentioned but I didn’t invest. I would literally be a millionaire now with like a £5 investment, but anyway my dream continues...

So as I’m listening to a podcast on YouTube, and blockchain technology is mentioned. I’m the kind of person that does not like the idea of societal surveillance or monitoring, so I’m immediately intrigued. I reason that you either get with the times or get left behind (once again!) so I decide to look further into it.

I discover it’s a whole niche on YouTube. A place I would have never have stumbled across if I continued watching my funny Korean cat videos where they use cat paws to make a gourmet meal. I dig deeper (thankfully not into the cat videos), and find other popular alternatives to Bitcoin like Erhereum, Cardano, ChainLink and so many more. These are the future rising stars that are smaller than Bitcoin but are slowly taking the market dominance away from Bitcoin.

I make a decision then and there that my future furlough savings will be spilled into cryptocurrency instead of shopping the clothes sales online as a form of entertainment. I felt this pride inside of me that I was preparing for my financial future instead of the constant consumerism that most young women have been brainwashed to waste their savings on, with the promises of happiness never quite being fulfilled.

I was happy. Then I discovered even smaller altcoins that have a micro-market cap. I started having visions of being a millionaire again, like I could have been if I was a lot wiser in 2013. These tiny market cap coins were a fraction of a penny in cost, yet with great real world utility so if they went even to a penny, that would be a massive profit from my original investment. I started to get very excited!

Furlough money started to become less and less per month (I don’t know if anyone else had this problem in the UK!) and I started looking at ways to earn cryptocurrency instead of buy it. I found two great solutions that allows my bank account to have a bit of a much needed rest.

The first was SparkPoint Earn. This was one of the tiny market cap cyptocurrencies that I found that had this really cool “Bounties” programme. For starters they gave me lots of SRK (Sparkpoint digital money) for free, just for joining up! You can do the same by using this link.

I would participate in challenges for SparkEarn once I was verified, to earn more SRK. I was shocked how easy the tasks were and how generous the company was. Some of the tasks were even fun, like playing online games. I meant to get paid to play a game?! I really am living in an alternative cryptocurrency universe!

Then I stumbled upon the Brave browser. Here, I earned the Brave token, BAT by just downloading their safer and faster browser (click here to download yours) and then I continued on their browser surfing the internet as I usually do. The only difference was instead of being forced to see adverts, I actually got to choose which adverts I wanted to see and then I got paid for it in BAT.

I mean these money making innovations are not putting spendable money into my pocket just yet... but with a bit of foresight and patience, these altcoins could really help pay towards the dream life that I envision in a future where cryptocurrency is the norm, and earning it is enjoyable! Maybe even a full-time enjoyment... (the dream!)
