Preschool Poem

Poems are found between jagged, soul-bearing rocks

and rusty scissor spliced memories from preschool.

Poems come because you can't use those old fables

to create a statue of how you should see yourself.

So you re-create a memory insisting it sticks

a more pleasing picture onto your palms for future reference.
